Say this instead: If I say I CAN control my appetite, then I will. I choose to let go of my struggle with food, and to be mindful and trust myself that the portion of food I consume is the right amount for me.
Try to relax while eating, and use mindfulness as your gauge so that you can stop eating when you feel satisfied, but not overly full. Believe in your ability to make choices in your own best interest.
